The Karma Compound’s inaugural production brought Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love into the landscape that inspired it, transforming The Palms in Wonder Valley into an immersive roadside world beneath the desert sky. Live music, fading light, and characters moving through the space blurred the line between performance and place before the play had even begun.
For me, the photographs are about that tension—the actors, the audience, the isolation of the Mojave, and a story of love and obsession unfolding in a setting that felt almost like another character.
